Aloha all...

Went to see the Fibbers in Cincy last night. Almost didn't happen. I have this thing about Ticketmaster (don't we all...). I do whatever I can to avoid those people. I tried to call the bar where the Fibbers were playing last night to verify that the show was still on, but only got a machine. So I broke down and went to Ticketmaster. When the old lady (this Ticketmaster is inside of Kroger's, of all places!) called the show up on the computer, she told me the show was SOLD OUT! So here I am, standing in the middle of Kroger's with people behind me asking where they can find Banquet Chicken Patties, in total shock. I didn't know what to do. I finally decided to chance it, make the trek to Cincinnati, get there and tell the guy at the door my story, he just says "yeah, right." So anyway, onto the show. If you haven't seen them, the opening band, if you could call them a band, was Mr. Quintron + Miss Pussycat. Quintron played this huge old organ with all these homemade instruments attached to it. Miss Pussycat plays the moraccas (spelling?), and sings a few back-ups. I think her job was to stand there and look cute, which she was very good at, sing back-up, which she wasn't very good at, and play the moraccas, which she was terrible at. Then the puppet show started, run by Miss Pussycat. They had erected a puppet stage and everything. It was FABULOUS! I never laughed so hard. The Fibbers were right there in front watching the show, entranced. The Fibbers were, of course, amazing. They mezmorize me every time I see them. To the best of my recollection, here is what they played: (not in order, sorry) Hands on the Wheel, Lilybelle, The Small Song, The French Song, Cali Tuffy, I Killed the Cuckoo, Trashman in Furs, Folks Like Me, Seven or in 10, You Doo Right, Claudine?, Butch?. The encore was Toybox followed by Richard. I really wanted to hear Outside of Town, but how can I complain after that set? I asked Carla about her cat, she said it's doing much better, in case anyone was wondering.

That's all I have for now,

-Jason

Aloha,

After reflecting for a day on the Cincy show, I have some to a conclusion that will surprise few...

NELS RULES!!!!!!

sorry, I got a little excited there. I found it humorous during I Killed the Cuckoo when Carla was

whispering "I...think...I...<<chuckle, chuckle>>HATE YOU" The whole chuckle thing kind of changed the intensity of the moment. Kind lets you see a lighter side of her you don't see on stage often.

Going to see 10,000 Maniacs tomorrow, after I pick up my new car WHOO-HOO! It's a free show put on by a local radio station. Kind of curious to see how the new girl will do/ Hmmm......

-More later

-Jason
